All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary and in-charge of Youth Congress Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday 11 September toured the riot affected areas of Lower Assam and spoke with victims. He reached Kokrajhar on Tuesday afternoon after reaching Guwahati by flight in a chopper accompanied by Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and state Congress chief Bhubaneshwar Kalita.
The Gandhi scion visited two Bodo relief camps in Kathalguri and Gambaribeel relief camps. Apart from ininteracting with the victims at the camps, he also spoke to the authorities of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) and the leaders of the Bodoland Peoples’ Front (BPF) including its chief Hagrama Mohilary.
From Kokrajhar he went to Chirang districts and visited few camps in Basugaon. He then flew to Dhubri district to visit Muslim relief camps there. He met the leaders of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) at the Lakhiganj relief camp in Dhubri and also spoke at length with victims at the camps.
