Centre tightens noose on haryana, Punjab IAS officers

The centre has tightened its noose around serving IAS officers in Haryana and Punjab who have not yet submitted property details for 2011-12.
As per available information, 31 IAS officers from Punjab and 34 IAS officers from Haryana, have violated their service conditions by hiding their property details. The list also includes Chattar Singh, principal secretary to Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
Surprisingly, seven officers of Punjab and four of Haryana, have not submitted their property details even for 2010-11.
In a letter issued individually to the officers, the Ministry of Personnel and Training has taken a serious note of the lapses asking them why they have not submitted their property details.
The names of defaulters are displayed on the website of the ministry.
The IAS officers are duty-bound to disclose their property soon after taking over important assignments, said sources. When contacted, a ministry officer said that the notification has already been issued to ensure that the officers should disclose their properly details annually. In case of non-compliance of order issued by the ministry, serious action will be taken against them, said a senior officer.
