Samsung Galaxy S III comes to India at Rs 43,180

AFTER TWO days of its world-wide launch, smart-phone Samsung Galaxy S III is in India.
With a price tag of whopping Rs 43,180, this smart-phone boosts of many new features like voice command, 4.8 inch hd super amoled display, Android’s latest version (Ice Cream Sandwich) and an 8MP camera.
The phone has a 1.4 Ghz quad core processor and a powerful 2100mAh battery and will be available in two colours — pebble blue and marble white in India.
Samsung which is currently enjoying a marketshare of 46 percent in the category of smart-phone sales in India, expects to reach 60 percent by the year end.
“With Samsung Galaxy S III launch we think that by December 2012, we will have 60 percent of the market share in the category of smart phone. India is a booming market in this category and considering its pre-booking (which crossed 1,000 hand-sets) we expect the demand of smart-phones growing very fast,” said Ranjit Yadav, Country Head, Mobile and it business, Samsung.
BD Park, President and CEO, South-West Asia said that the strong adoption of smart-phones by Indian market has encouraged us to sustain the excitement in the marketplace by launching flagships, iconic devices like the Galaxy SII, Galaxy Note and today Galaxy S III.
