FOR 10 YEARS, Indesen Singh’s village had stagnated. He simply wanted to know what his sarpanch was up to. How was the money meant for village development being spent? After filing an RTI application to his Gram Sabha, he found himself being charged of forgery. He was kept in jail for three weeks. His reasons for fighting on? “For the past 10-12 years, there has been no development in my village. This is the reason I fought this battle,” he says.
