For My Brothers, Hindu, Muslim

FIRST OF ALL, I would like to appreciate your team for its sincerity and courage in carrying out such a risky operation to bring forward the truth about the Gujarat genocide. The story lives up to your slogan, Free, Fair and Fearless.

Our Muslim so-called leaders are least bothered to raise their voices against such a grave crime against their community. They are fond of highlighting the Shahbano case, Muslim personal law and other such issues that will easily give them political mileage. Muslims should take a very cautious approach to the whole situation for it is the intention of the RSS and the VHP to provoke them. Instead of becoming vengeful and adopting violence, they should approach the peaceful path shown by Mahatma Gandhi. Think a while, think of Punjab, Kashmir, Palestine, Sri Lanka and all the many other instances where violent resistance generated more violence from the other side. There is no end to it. We can oppose evil in a more effective way by non-violence. How? Let me explain.

• Educate yourself and try to give your children a proper education and social awareness.
• Learn to respect other religions. I feel that most Muslim youth are under-educated due to poverty and lack of awareness. They can be easily made to adopt a wrong path, which would bring sorrow not only to themselves but to their community.
• Arrange peaceful rallies throughout the country to attract the attention of the government and media whenever such incidents happen.
• Never be motivated by the cheap slogans of any political party. Take the example of the Congress, which says it is a secular
party, able to protect the minorities. What action is the Central government it leads today taking against the Modi government?
• Do not despair. Most Hindus are tolerant and peace-loving. There are still many in India courageous enough to fight back against evil. Give them your support.

When one reads the TEHELKA story, one is left wondering whether these people are human beings or beasts? How can one tear open the stomach of a mother and rape a daughter in front of her father? These men are definitely not in their right minds. When they harbour such evil thoughts, do they have the right to represent a noble religion like Hinduism?

Even if these so-called hardliners were able to eliminate all of India’s 150 million Muslims, are they sure the country would be free of any dispute? India has many problems apart from the Muslim issue — the Naxalites, separatism in the Northeast, caste, the South/North divide — and all these will grow in intensity if eliminating Muslims is seen as a solution.

Dear Hindu brothers and sisters, please don’t be misguided by these selfish people. Try to isolate them from the mainstream. It is this that will bring peace and progress to our nation and make India a great country one day. Long live India!
